Happy 2012 everyone! Its about time we got back into the swing of things so join us for our first drawing meet of the new year on Tuesday 7th February. Everyone welcome and materials provided as always...We are still looking into a number of lovely locations for this event so details will be confirmed over next few days.

We are also looking forwards to telling you all about our plans for the year ahead - and to hearing your suggestions!

We were delighted to see lots of new faces at last Thursday's event, despite the horrid weather and everyone's busy pre-Christmas schedules! Thank you to all those who made this event so special, especially the mince pie makers and the lovely Rummer hotel who provided a beautiful room complete with Christmas tree.

Hi drawing dudes! Here are the fantastic photos from The Big Draw at Arnolfini. What a super charged day of drawing we had... It was lovely to see so many new faces and such brilliant drawings. I think we had almost a thousand drawings submitted into the Drawing Museum, check out the final image in the series (!).

It’s that time of the year again and the BIG DRAW season is upon us! Launched as a one-day event in 2000, The Big Draw is now an annual month-long festival of over one thousand events across the UK. Every October, museums, galleries, heritage sites, libraries, schools and parks join in – inviting people of all ages to discover how drawing can connect them with their surroundings and the wider community.

On Saturday 29th October 2011 Arnolfini will host MY DRAWING MUSEUM, a free workshop for all ages and abilities responding to the current exhibition Museum Show. Bristol Drawing Club will be joining artist and Drawing Club Member Michelle Cioccoloni for a super charged event celebrating the wonder and beauty of drawing. Come and take part in a fun, interactive drawing session! Based around the idea of speed drawing (like speed dating, except no talking - just drawing!), with 5 minute drawing sessions, the activities will kick off at 11 am and run for the whole day, on a drop-in basis. Over the course of the day the drawings made will be collected and exhibited along a timeline which will form an evolving museum of drawing on the gallery walls.

Materials provided free of charge. No need to book, just turn up!

Hello Everyone! Yes a brilliant day was had by all at Upfest this year. Thanks to Drawn Recordings, who filled the day with funky beats and technological treats. The day got really busy mid-afternoon, as all who were there will know the atmosphere stretched right across the city of Bristol. Yes, it seams that Summer may be just round the corner - Yay!

'Through Hills and Valleys' - Private View Thursday 7th April!

Join us at Bristol Drawing School on Thursday 7th April for the Private View of 'Through Hills and Valleys', an exhibition of new work by Ambrosine Allen and Anouk Mercier.

The exhibition will also present a selection of drawings created during a three month-long project that joined together artists from the Bristol Drawing Club and London-based The Drawing Factory!

Hello all you lovely drawing people. We hope you enjoyed 'A Night On The Island II', at Spike Island last Thursday 17 March. We had some first class tunage from Drawn recordings, as well as their fantastic interactive projections. A big thanks to Drawn and all those who came along and helped create the wonderful atmosphere.

The evening featured live music from Markmaker, mixing electronic with Afrobeat and Dub influences, and Sax off the Roof, which boasts five altos, two tenors and a baritone, and live AV sets courtesy of Prymedia and Lumen.

Thanks to the bar staff who made us feel very welcome... yes we saw you bobbing your heads to the music and scribbling a few sketches on coasters :-)

Hello Drawing Fans!!

Here are the photos from the Drawing Club session last weekend at The RWA. It was wonderful to hold Drawing Club in the beautiful RWA galleries and to be surrounded by the fantastic Henri Matisse exhibition. The Speed Drawing, Frottage & Paper Lantern workshops were a great success... Much fun was had by all! Hello drawing people :) What a great night was had @ Bistro yesterday! A fantastic turnout and so many super cool drawings. The venue provided an enjoyable ambiance and there was some great live music by Fiona Barrow and Chris Powell, for those who stayed on later.

Hey drawing fans! What a superb evening was had by all at The Big Chill last night, it was definitely one of BDC's favourites so far!

Lots of space, loads of drawing and plenty of banter was had by all. It was lovely to meet new members and as always a pleasure to see familiar faces too!

another top meet underway. sorry for the delay on updating this, i had some computer issues. also we have been slack in organising a meet recently, this is due to Anouk and myself curating a drawing based show. it will open on friday 13th of november and is cleverly called FRIDAY 13TH. here is a link.

the next meet will take place as part of our show FRIDAY 13TH. date to be confirmed. also we have been asked to host a drawing club in 'the big pink bus' currently parked at the front of the RWA so we will keep you posted on that.
